The Kirensky Institute of Physics (Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch) and the Siberian Federal University announced that the Euro-Asian Symposium “Trends in Magnetism” (EASTMAG-2016) will be held in Krasnoyarsk for the active exchange by new ideas and information on the latest results obtained in the field of physics of magnetic phenomena and for establishment of direct links between scientists from many countries.
The Kirensky Institute of Physics is one of the leading Russian institutions in the field of magnetism. The institute was established by Leonid V. Kirensky in 1957 and physics of magnetism and magnetic materials have been in focus from the very beginning. Thin-film and single-crystal technologies developed at the Kirensky Institute, variety of experimental, including neutron and synchrotron, measurements performed in intense international cooperation, and theoretical investigations in the field of magnetism are well-known in the world-wide magnetic community.
The first EASTMAG (2001) was organized by the Institute of Metal Physics (Russian Academy of Science, Ural Branch) in Yekaterinburg.
The second EASTMAG (2004) was organized by the Kirensky Institute of Physics of the Siberian Branch of RAS and Krasnoyarsk State University in Krasnoyarsk.
The third EASTMAG (2007) was held in Kazan.
The fourth EASTMAG (2010) was held in Yekaterinburg.
The fifth EASTMAG (2013) was held in Vladivostok.
The sixth, EASTMAG-2016 will be held in Krasnoyarsk on August 15–19, 2016.
After the symposium the 2 days tour to the Krasnoyarsk Sea and along the beautiful Biryusa river near Krasnoyarsk is planned.
Baikal conference on magnetic materials will be held in Listvyanka from August 22 till August 26, 2016. For more information please visit the site http://www.bicmm.isu.ru or mail to Gavrilyuk A.A. zubr@api.isu.ru.
